The title of this piece, “Ner Tamid,” comes from the Hebrew phrase meaning “Eternal Light.” Inspired by the driving, dance-like style of Klezmer music, this piece for brass quintet combines settings of “Hatikvah” and “Shalom Aleichem” in a moving arrangement that highlights these beautiful melodies. The two main themes are interwoven throughout this work, burning brightly from beginning to end.
